The awareness session for Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) program was held in UET’s Transportation Hall on 25^th October which was attended by both faculties and the students. This project was initiated 5 years back by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in a joint collaboration with Microsoft Corporation to provide free of cost certifications to students. Senator Rukhsana Zuberi was the chief guest at the occasion, who is also the chairperson of Tec Education Foundation. After the last year success of Huawei ICT Skill Competition 2017, this year again the mega competition is gearing up and for this, the awareness seminars and students’ examination rounds for selection has been started in the leading universities of Pakistan. Huawei UET’s expert team is doing every bit to make this happen. Post the success of its debut International Conference on Energy Conservation and Efficiency (ICECE) last year, the Center for Energy Research and Development (CERAD) UET and FSK Energy Conservation and Efficiency Organization (FEECO) jointly organized the 2^nd conference (ICECE 2018) which will last from October 16 to 17 at UET, Lahore. The conference brought together the engineers, researchers, energy experts, manufacturers and building designers at one platform to interact, discuss, explore and exchange ideas in the fast growing field of energy efficiency and conservation strategies. KICS UET Lahore organized a skill competition called ICT Skill Competition in collaboration with Huawei Technologies. A seminar on this competition was held on 4^th October, 2018 at Main Auditorium in University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore for the awareness and registrations for the competition. More than 2000 students from all over Punjab’s universities attended this event. Among thousands of registered students in this competition, 6 students will be chosen and those will be paid a free trip to China along with many cash prizes and gifts. The final round of the competition will be held by the end of this year in China at Huawei Technologies’ headquarters.  The 6 winners will be given jobs at Huawei Technologies along with many gifts and prizes such as mobile phones and study vouchers. Huawei ICT Skill Competition 2018 is again coming up after the giant success of last year in which 3 UET’s intelligent students had won 2^nd position in the Middle East and in the global final round of the competition. This year again Huawei likes to invite colleges and universities in the Middle East to participate in the competition after the magnificent success of the debut edition of the competition which witnessed the participation of more than 10,285 students from 121 educational institutions across 10 countries in the region.

A delegation from University of Lahore paid a technical visit to Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) on 25^th September. The delegation consisted of students and professors who were warmly welcomed by Mr. Kashif Bashir (Manager Trainings).
